Most educational media developed by the DES team is based on Adobe Flash technology. To be able to use it, students must have the Adobe Flash Player plugin installed in their browser. The plugin can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website.
The main difference between modifiable and unmodifiable educational media is in the way that it can be reused in other courses. You can use modifiable media over and over again without changing its apperiance by simply replacing the content. Unmodifiable media is custom made for a particular course or module and cannot be reused without significant changes to its design.
If you are a Ryerson instructor and would like to use one of these media files in your course, please contact dehelp@ryerson.ca. Don't forgret to send your name, the course code, target semester and the media title along with your request.
Have an idea? The DES team can help you develop it into engaging interactive media that will throw your students into a whirlpool of unforgettable digital experience!
